Vietnamese man visits 50 countries, and counting, on motorbike

A Vietnamese man from southern Vietnam is living his dream, or everyone’s dream: traveling the world by motorbike. On the 794th day of his journey, Tran Dang Dang Khoa reached Sydney - the two-third mark on his seven-continent motorbike journey. “Suddenly I opened my eyes and I saw Sydney, an important milestone which marks two-thirds of my world journey on ‘The Memo’ and over two years since my departure,” Khoa shared with his 237,500 Facebook followers on August 3. A picture capturing nature in a rural area in Australia taken by Khoa has received positive feedback from his Facebook followers. “The Memo” is the name of the motorbike he has used for the trip, which began in June 2017, and the vehicle has so far taken him through around 50 countries. How about the first time you went to a supermarket in your new country overseas only to discover a favourite food item had a price tag that nearly knocked you off your feet? US restaurant chain Chili’s opens in HCM City

Chili’s American Grill & Bar opened on Saturday in SC VivoCity Mall in HCM City's District 7. — Photo courtesy of Chili’s The American chain of restaurants Chili’s American Grill & Bar opened its first Chili’s in Viet Nam at SC VivoCity mall in HCM City’s District 7 on December 7. The Golden Gate Red Hots Joint-Stock Company and Brinker International Inc worked together to bring Chili’s American Grill & Bar to the country. The restaurant serves Tex-Mex style meals with steaks, burgers, ribs and fajitas and drinks such as margaritas. High school student devotes to charity works

A high school student in Gia Lai Province has set up 15 charity projects to help students from low-income families. Le Van Phuc Le Van Phuc, a 12th grader at Hung Vuong High School, is leading the Fly to Sky Charity Club. Phuc has had outstanding academic achievements. He has been an outstanding student for eleven academic years and won third prize at provincial and national geography competitions. He was also selected to attend the 8th Vietnam Youth Union National Congress. "I have loved geography since I was in 10th grade. I started reading more books about it which helped me a lot during the competitions," he said. "I have never stopped reading books and online. Continuous learning has expanded my vision and I have also visited authors to learn more." Phuc will be admitted to the university after winning third prize in the national geography competition. Enjoying fresh air in Lung Ngoc Hoang Nature Reserve

The reserve, hailed as ‘the lung of Mekong Delta,’ spans 2,800 hectares and is home to over 500 kinds of plants and animals, some of which appear on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Moreover, the Lung Ngoc Hoang is the home of 330 plants with vessel, also called trachea, which the most specialized and efficient conducting structure of xylem (fluid-conducting tissues) in botany; many of them can grow in saltwater. Additionally, 206 terrestrial vertebrate animal are living in the nature reserve and 77 species of fish Especially, the reserve is comprising of other nature reserves such as Lung Chuoi Nuoc, Lung Tran, Lung Ba Dia, and Lung Sen.
