52 Covid-19 cases found linked to National Hospital for Tropical Diseases hotspot

HCMC – As of this afternoon, May 6, as many as 52 Covid-19 cases had been found linked to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District, according to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control.
Among the 52 Covid-19 cases, 43 patients were reported in 14 provinces and cities, Yen Bai, Vinh Phuc, Thai Binh, Son La, Quang Ninh, Phu Tho, Nam Dinh, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Haiphong, Hoa Binh, Hung Yen and Lang Son, while the remaining nine cases were detected in five districts and towns in Hanoi City.
After a doctor working at the frontline hospital was found infected with Covid-19 on May 5, the Ministry of Health asked the hospital to conduct Covid-19 tests on all of its employees and patients and caregivers at the hospital, the local media reported.
Besides, the hospital released an urgent announcement calling on patients, patients’ family members and those who visited the hospital from April 14 to May 4 to contact healthcare centers for guidelines and medical checkups.
