Ho Chi Minh City to add at least 10ha of public parks this year
The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has set a goal to build at least 10 hectares of public parks across the metropolis in 2022, the Vietnam News Agency reported. The city will add at least 10 hectares of public parks and two hectares of green space, as well as plant and renovate 6,000 trees, this year, according to a plan recently issued by the municipal People’s Committee. Authorities in every district and Thu Duc City were tasked with making a list of land plots originally zoned for building public parks. If these land lots are currently leased for other purposes, the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment will suggest a road map to reclaim them to prepare for the park construction. The city administration also highlighted the addition of parks and green trees to housing development projects, as well as the expansion of land banks for public parks across the metropolis. Vietnam, Laos’ fronts and ministries step up cooperation
Chau is accompanying Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue on his official visit to Laos from May 15 – 17. Affirming the growing bilateral relations, the officials agreed to focus their attention on organizing activities marking the two countries’ Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022, the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic ties, and the 45th year of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation. The two are scheduled to visit each other’s country this year. Vietnam and Laos also plan to hold a conference on building a shared border of peace and friendship in 2022. Coast guards raise local fishermen’s awareness of legal fishing
Delegates and owners of trawlers learnt about regulations and legal procedures for fishing areas according to laws of Vietnam and ASEAN member states. The work was expected to raise public awareness of fishing regulations, stressing the aim of ending violations in foreign waters. Reportedly, local owners of trawlers signed a document to commit to not fishing in foreign waters as well as to join hands with functional forces to conduct legal fishing in Vietnam’s waters and strictly safeguard the national sovereignty over sea and islands.
