At the meeting, Vo Van Tuan, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs said that in the national salvation cause, Fatherland protection war, and in doing international duties, the armed forces and people of Vinh Long province stayed united, promoted patriotism, joined hands with troops and people throughout the country to contribute personnel and materials, for the national liberation and reunification. The province has managed more than 70,000 policy beneficiaries and national contributors, including 16,300 fallen troops, 4,500 wounded soldiers, 2,850 heroic Vietnamese mothers with 96 who are still alive. In a cozy atmosphere, General Can expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day (July 27, 1947 - 2022). Recalling the revolutionary history, General Can highlighted that, during the national resistance wars against foreign invaders and the implementation of international service, under the leadership of the Party, the Dong Nai provincial armed forces and people made great contribution to the cause of national liberation and unification. The event was attended by Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command Major General Bui Quoc Oai and Head of the Military Youth Advisory Board Colonel Tran Viet Nang. During the event, the delegation offered incense at Ly Son island district’s War Cemetery, and together with the local youths, collected waste at the ship lock in An Hai commune. In addition, they also disseminated information about national sea and islands, and illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing to the islanders. In Truong Sa (Spratly), Son Ca (Sand Cay), Nam Yet (Namyit), and Phan Vinh (Pearson Reef) islands, General San and the delegates offered incense in tribute to fallen soldiers and commemorated President Ho Chi Minh, Grand Duke Tran Hung Dao and General Vo Nguyen Giap. Reportedly, in May, the Central Military Commission (CMC)’s Standing Committee and the Ministry of National Defense (MND) directed the whole military to accomplish military and defense affairs. Accordingly, they maintained combat readiness, firmly protected national sovereignty, closely worked with relevant forces to ensure safety for important events, especially SEA Games 31. In addition, units in the whole military mobilized troops to help Northern provinces to overcome flood aftermath, prevent illegal crossings, fight smuggling and drug-related crimes. According to Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra, the bill comprises seven chapters and 74 articles, adding many new contents to existing regulations in the field, including those on the implementation of democracy in agencies. Tra said that in the compilation of the bill, there have been different opinions on regulations on the realization of democracy in enterprises that need further discussion at the N.A. Following the Government’s opinion, the bill gives one chapter on the implementation of democracy in companies, she added. Delivering a verification report on the bill, Chairman of the N.A.
