Can you give an overview of SANSE, its goals, and past results? Nguyen Trang Linh, head of development at SANSE, founded in 2016 by students at the United Nations International School in Hanoi SANSE’s mission is to promote the sustainable growth of impoverished, geographically challenged, and agriculturally dependent regions in Vietnam; foster an understanding and connection between urban and rural communities; and promote the local educational systems and other learning opportunities as a tool to assist the sustainable growth of rural regions in Vietnam. We’re currently working to achieve these goals in the ethnic Tay village of Ban Lien in Lao Cai by providing infrastructure and education. Vietnam, UN accelerate Sustainable Development Goals in 5-year cooperation
The new cooperation agreement will help Vietnam accelerate the progress of the Sustainable Development Goals. The new One Strategic Framework for Sustainable Development Cooperation (CF) is the agreement signed for the partnership between the United Nations and the Government of Vietnam for the 2022-2026 period. Vietnam to mobilise $360 billion for sustainable development targets
On August 16, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), in collaboration with the Banking Working Group (BWG), organised a conference in Hanoi to discuss measures to attract resources for the implementation of green growth and sustainable development targets. Within the framework of the conference, participants agreed that Vietnam needs to start implementing effective adaptation and mitigation strategies to contain the challenges as climate impacts are quickly becoming stronger and more unpredictable. According to the World Bank report, Vietnam has been ranked among the five countries that are most likely to be affected by climate change. Vietnam and Bangladesh are the two countries with the highest exposure to flooding, including riverine, flash, and coastal flooding. Besides assessing business performance, a growing number of institutional and individual investors are taking into account the ESG criteria before making an investment decision. ESG requires businesses to be transparent about their environmental, social, and governance performance, including their contributions to local economies. On August 10, Masan Group , the only local enterprise with integration from production to retail, was honoured by Nhip Cau Dau Tu Magazine among the 50 firms in its Corporate Sustainability Awards.
