The Coalition was formed with the support of Investing in Women, an initiative of the Australian Government. VBCWE is expected to lead efforts to create workplaces where women and men have the same opportunities to contribute and advance in their chosen careers. The seven founding members of the VBCWE are Deloitte Vietnam, Maritime Bank, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), SASCO, GARCO 10, Traphaco and Unilever Vietnam. Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI — Public policies and especially enterprise polices are crucial to support gender equality in the workplace, experts said at the forum ‘Promoting Gender Equality in the Digital Age and Integration’ held in Hà Nội by the Ministry of Labour-Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) on Wednesday. According to the figures in a study by International Labour Organisation (ILO) presented at the forum, female workers are 2.4 times more susceptible to unemployment risks than their male counterparts. Females also receive salaries 12 per cent lower than males. Risks can be defined as being replaced by machines and automation, said Đào Quang Vinh, Director of the Institute of Labour Science and Social Affairs. Experts: Revised Labour Code should promote gender equality
Illustrative image (Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Participants at a workshop in Hanoi on April 26 discussed the impacts on gender caused by recommendations in the revised Labour Code and defined sensitive regulations on gender in the 2012 Labour Code. The event was jointly held by the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), and the Australian Embassy in Vietnam. The panels also talked about effective strategies and interventions, and put forth policy recommendations for the revision of the Labour Code and build an equal working environment for both men and women. Labour Code revision opportunity to promote gender equality
Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI — Experts discussed effective strategies and interventions to solve gender discriminations present in the provisions of the current 2012 Labour Code during a workshop held in Hà Nội on Thursday. The workshop, titled “General Consultation on Gender Mainstreaming and Gender Impact Assessment of the Proposal to Revise Việt Nam’s Labour Code”, was co-organised by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, UN Women and Australian Embassy. Over 80 experts from governmental agencies, local and international organisations and academia participated in the workshop. During the workshop, experts shared policy recommendations for Việt Nam to revise the Labour Code and create an equal working environment for both men and women.
