SLP aims to dominate Vietnam’s markets

Kent Yang, founding managing partner of SLP Early this year, GLP announced the establishment of GLP Vietnam Development Partners I (GLP VDP I) with a total investment value of $1.1 billion. How will SLP activities be deployed in the Vietnamese market SLP is an industrial and logistic facility development and operation platform backed by GLP – one of the leading logistics infrastructure providers and operators – and three founding partners. Even though SLP is in a joint venture format, since its inception, it has been an extension of GLP in Southeast Asia and Vietnam. We closed the GLP VDP I fund earlier this year – in less than a year. Vietnam Airlines plans share issuance to raise funds

The national flag carrier remains optimistic about the recovery of the market from late 2022 and in 2023. Vietnam Airlines is taking steps to issue shares, scheduled for 2023-2024, in a bid to raise funds and improve the carrier's financial situation. The airline is still struggling with Covid-19 impacts. File photo As a State-owned entity, the airline would need approval from the Government for the issuance plan. The move was revealed in the national flag carrier’s document submitted to the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange on measures to halt its continual losses after its stock (HVN) was placed under supervision. In 2021, Vietnam Airlines issued shares worth VND7.9 trillion (US$337.6 million) to existing shareholders and raised its registered capital to over VND22.1 trillion ($945 million). US helps strengthen Vietnam’s higher education in US$14-million partnership

The partnership will drive socio-economic development by benefitting more than 200,000 students and equip them with skills to thrive in an increasingly competitive global market. The United States on August 1 launched a five-year, US$14.2-million partnership with three leading Vietnamese universities to strengthen higher education in Vietnam. The funding, through US Agency for International Development (USAID), is part of the Partnership for Higher Education Reform announced by Vice President Kamala Harris during her visit to Hanoi in August 2021 will collaborate with universities, key government officials, and industry partners in Vietnam. Thousands of resettlement apartments abandoned in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City

Thousands of apartments and land lots for the resettlement of residents in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have been left deserted for years, causing huge waste. While many laborers are in dire need of accommodations, solutions to these abandoned resettlement apartments and the resettlement in the future to prevent similar cases are needed. Abandonment and untidiness According to the Hanoi Department of Construction, the capital city is now home to nearly 18,000 resettlement apartments. Most of them have been sold and allocated for projects. Only over 400 units remain unused. However, in reality, thousands of these apartments are presently empty.
