Documentary on President Ho Chi Minh screened in Algeria
A scene in the documentary (Photo: hochiminh.vn) Algiers (VNA) – A French-language documentary titled “Ho Chi Minh: Sketching the Portrait of a Politician” was screened in June 29 by the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria. The 58-minute documentary was produced in 1973 by French director Gérard Guillaume. It was copyrighted and stored by Ciné-Archives of the French Communist Party. The Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria purchased the copyright to use the copy for screening. It reflects the revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh since his participation in the Tours Congress in 1920 and his journey to fight for the national independence. The documentary presents archives and interviews with historical figures. Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Vinh emphasised the role of the late President in the struggle for national independence, affirming that Vietnam's resistance war is a great source of encouragement for oppressed peoples around the world, including Algeria. President urges actions to handle health sector’s crisis
The State leader attended a ceremony on June 28 to mark the 50th founding anniversary of Vietnam Pharmaceutical Corporation (Vinapharm), where he presented the first-class Labour Order to the corporation. He stressed that the difficulties that the health sector is facing are only temporary, adding that the Party and State are paying attention to and ready to work with the sector to solve the existing challenges and obstacles. Vietnam reaffirms support for U.N. Secretary-General’s appeal for global ceasefire
In her remarks, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Tra, Charge d'affaires a.i. of Vietnam to the U.N., pointed out that while the COVID-19 pandemic continues to threaten peace and development efforts, conflicts in many regions have led to heavy casualties and growing humanitarian challenges. She held that the international community should give high priority to ensuring compliance with international laws and the U.N. Charter. She also underlined the role of multilateralism and multilateral mechanisms with the U.N. at their center. To promote a ceasefire, it is necessary to boost compliance with Resolutions 2532 and 2565, and relevant resolutions of the U.N.
