The Vietnamese defense delegation was led by its Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang. The welcoming ceremony for the Vietnamese delegation at Trapeang Sre Border Gate was solemnly conducted under the chair of Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh. The first Vietnam-Cambodia border defense friendship exchange will be held in Loc Ninh district, Binh Phuoc province (Vietnam) and Snoul district, Kratie province (Cambodia) with many practical activities, contributing to promoting friendship between the two countries such as border landmark saluting ceremony, friendship tree planting, joint patrol of the two sides’ border protection forces, inauguration of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Military Medical Station, visit to and presentation of gifts to students at Vietnamese and Cambodian schools, among others. The program, aiming to support the local people, was carried out right before the L2FH Rotation 3 departed for home after accomplishing its term and handing over the mission to the L2FH Rotation 4. On this occasion, 150 gifts, including notebooks, pencils were handed over to needy students with good academic outcomes. Meanwhile, the medical staff also presented 350 handmade face masks and 20 new sets of tables and chairs to the school. This was the second time that Vietnamese military doctors have come to Liech Primary School and brought meaningful and practical gifts to help the children there have better study condition. The HCMC Delegation of the 14th and 15th National Assembly (NA) deputies visit and offer gifts to troops stationed on Con Dao Islands. The event marked the 47th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification Day (April 30) and the 132nd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19). Speaking at the event, Deputy Head of the delegation Van Thi Bach Tuyet expressed her joy at the development of Con Dao Island and tourism infrastructure, preservation and promotion of historical values, and improvement of the living standards of local people and soldiers on the island. (Photo: VNA) Vientiane (VNA) – Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Vuong Dinh Hue met with representatives of Vietnamese businesses in Laos on May 15 in Vientiane as part of his official visit to Laos . At the meeting, Duong Dinh Bang, Interim Chairman of the Vietnamese Business Association for Cooperation and Investment in Laos, said the Lao Government is amending legal regulations so as to improve the investment climate. Besides, many agreements between the two countries have also created an optimal legal corridor for Vietnamese firms’ investment in Laos. However, he admitted that investment relations still fall short of expectations and have yet to match the political and diplomatic ties.
