HCMC office rents return to pre-Covid levels
Grade A rents rose by 5.2 percent year-on-year in the second quarter to US$57.71 per square meter, or 2020 rates, according to property consultancy Knight Frank. There has been no new supply this year, it said. The vacancy rate edged down by 0.5 percentage points from the first quarter to 6.6 percent. "Tenants still prefer the central business district, but they have to consider farther spots in case they need over 1,000 sq.m of space or have limited resources," Leo Nguyen, director of occupier strategy and solutions at Knight Frank, said. Grade B rents were up 5.9 percent from a year earlier to $33.79 but fell 0.7 percent quarter-on-quarter as some landlords reduced them to attract customers. The vacancy rate was 0.7 percentage points higher than in the previous quarter at 8.2 percent. Vietjet has officially launched four more services linking top destinations of Vietnam and India including Ho Chi Minh City/Hanoi – Mumbai and Phu Quoc – New Delhi/Mumbai. The new routes’ launch ceremony was held in Mumbai during the visit of Ho Chi Minh City’s leaders to the Indian city as Vietnam and India mark their 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the budget airline said in a press release on Wednesday. The Phu Quoc – Mumbai route will operate four weekly flights every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, starting from September 8. The services between Phu Quoc and New Delhi will commence on September 9, with three weekly flights on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. The Ho Chi Minh City/Hanoi – Mumbai routes already started operations in early June 2022. Hundreds of businesses to receive support from USAID IPSC Project
On June 30, the project started to revise and select eligible and qualified businesses to receive support packages for the second intake of 2022, running from April 1 to June 30. The USAID IPSC, with a total budget of $36 million, is currently Vietnam's largest private-sector technical assistance project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project aims to support businesses to overcome the pandemic, improve their capacity in governance, technology, financial access, innovation, and market access, and promote a favourable business investment environment. USAID IPSC targets to support 5,000 small and growing businesses. USAID IPSC officially launched and opened registration on January 18. HCMC forms taskforces for Ring Road No.3 construction project
Ring Road No.3 project as requested by the Prime Minister. This taskforce will supervise critical matters like technical issues, construction materials, compensation policies. It will hold meetings when there is a need for cooperation between localities and ministries or among localities. HCMC is planning to also form a project management committee, aiming at immediately addressing problems during the implementation of sub-projects in the city.
