Vietnam Airlines completes longest flight for transporting vaccines A flight of Vietnam Airlines transporting COVID-19 Abdala vaccine from Cuba to Vietnam safely landed at the Noi Bai International Airport on September 26. With a total length of more than 17,000 km, and 20.5 hours of flying, this is the longest flight so far that Vietnam Airlines has operated to transport vaccines. The vaccines on the flight, which used wide-body aircraft Boeing 787-9, were kept in specialized equipment, and handed over to the authorized agency immediately after landing. Cuba's Abdala vaccine is considered one of the world's most effective COVID-19 vaccines. Previously, the Ministry of Health had conditionally approved this vaccine for emergency use in preventing and controlling the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. Another 174 COVID-19 deaths were also announced. The majority of these deaths were in HCM City, with 122 deaths. Total deaths now stand at 18,758. Việt Nam's mortality rate is 0.4 per cent higher than the world’s average, which stands at 2 per cent. The Ministry of Health also announced there are currently more than 4,100 COVID-19 patients considered seriously ill. 29 of these are being treated with ECMO. Of the new COVID-19 cases reported on Monday, 20 were imported while 9,342 cases were locally transmitted – a decrease of 669 cases compared to Sunday. The project will be run on a platform provided by FUNiX (a member of FPT Corporation). SCC utilises FUNiX's platform to cross-share learning materials and online courses among member universities. FUNiX plays the role of a coordination centre; organising exchange activities and creating a vibrant international student community in an online environment.
