A U.S.-based "terrorist organization" is responsible for a blast that occurred at the tax department of Binh Duong Province in southern Vietnam last month, according to information released by the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security on Friday. The explosion occured at the provincial tax department at 328 Binh Duong Boulevard in Thu Dau Mot City at around 9:00 am on September 30, 2019. The blast caused a large wall to collapse and shattered the building's glass windows, but there were no human casualties. Truong Duong, a 39-year-old man residing in Di An Town, Binh Duong, was latter arrested and named the main suspect behind the explosion. He has been identified as a member of the so-called Provisional National Government of Vietnam, a U.S.-based group which has been labelled as a "terrorist organization" by the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, according to a post on the ministry's portal on Friday. Major transnational drug trafficking ring busted
Hanoi (VNA) – Police recently cracked down on a major transnational ring that trafficked heroin from Cambodia to Taiwan (China) through Vietnam, the Ministry of Public Security said on December 5. On March 27, police examined a truck moving in District 12 of Ho Chi Minh City and discovered 895 heroin bricks on the vehicle. A Taiwanese named Chen Tsen Wei, born in 1986, was detained. Given the large amount of the seized heroin, the police decided to expand investigation into the case. After Chen was arrested, Taiwanese ringleaders in Cambodia ordered two other Taiwanese named Yang Po Hung and Yang Kai Chen to enter Vietnam and continue transporting drugs from Cambodia to HCM City. The two took advantage of several Vietnamese’s names to rent five places in Binh Chanh district of HCM City, which they used as homes and production facilities and warehouses to disguise the storage and transport of heroin. Vietnamese police are investigating the death of a 50-year-old Russian man who was found dead, naked in his room at the Malibu resort in south central Vietnam coast on Wednesday. The death of the foreigner, Suvorov Alexander, was discovered at 10 pm that day by a staffer at the Malibu resort in Mui Ne Ward, Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province. As the foreigner stayed in his room all day long, the staffer called him to open the room door to visit him but received no response.
