According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), in the first seven months of this year, tra fish exports to Mexico grew by 73%, reaching 73.5 million USD and accounting for 4.5% of Vietnam's total turnover. Over 90% of tra fish shipped to the market were frozen fillets. In July alone, the country spent more than 11 million USD on the Vietnamese product, doubling that of the same period last year. FLC securities subsidiary appoints new board after mass resignation
The three, Trinh Van Nam, Pham Thi Thanh Nga and Chairman Le Ba Phuong were appointed at its general meeting of shareholders Tuesday afternoon. This is the first time Phuong works at BOS Securities, though he was a member of FLC’s board of supervisors before resigning in 2014. The BOS board used to have five members but two, Trinh Thi Thuy Nga and Huong Tran Kieu Dung, were arrested for allegedly manipulating the stock market in April and were officially dismissed Tuesday. The rest, Le Ba Nguyen, Chu Tien Vuong and Nguyen Quynh Nga, all resigned in early August for personal reasons. Awarding ceremony of “Green Screen” short film contest to take place in Quang Ninh
The “Green Screen” short film contest this year was launched in January, 2022 with the theme “Protecting the environment for sustainable development.” Since its launch, the contest has attracted the active participation of film lovers, especially young people. In March, the organizing panel established a council to select the best screenplays and film projects. 21 projects have been chosen to participate in the project presentation round in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Nine best projects received investment from the organizers. Speaking at the press meeting, VFDA’s President Ngo Phuong Lan highly evaluated the diversity of participating projects and creativeness of young film makers. Hundreds of divers flock to the Han River and the Gulf of Da Nang in the eponymous city every day in search of a species of hard-shell clam gaining popularity on city restaurant menus. ‘Chip chip,’ a Vietnamese onomatopoeia for the chirping sounds of birds, is what local Vietnamese call these black-and-white hard-shell clams native to the Han River and the Gulf of Da Nang. Featured in a variety of Vietnamese dishes that go particularly well with cold beer, chip chips have earned their place in the stomachs of local residents and food-loving tourists, resulting in a boom in the ‘chip chip’ diving trade.
