Ilustrative image (Photo: Xinhua) Hanoi (VNA) - Singapore's non-oil domestic exports ( NODX ) expanded 7% year-on-year in July, with June's growth revised down to 8.5% from 9% previously, Enterprise Singapore , a government agency, reported on August 17. This is the 20th consecutive month for Singapore's NODX to grow year on year. The electronic NODX increased by 10.3% year-on-year in July, following a 4.1% increase in June. Meanwhile, the non-electronic NODX in July expanded by 6.1% compared to the same period last year. On a month-on-month seasonally adjusted basis, Singapore's NODX increased by 1.4% in July to 17.8 billion SGD (12.9 billion USD), after the previous month saw a 3.2% growth. Cambodia eyes to serve 1.3 million foreign tourists in 2022

(Photo: Khmer Times) Phnom Penh (VNA) - Cambodia expects to welcome 1.2-1.3 million international tourists in 2022, said Director General of Tourism Development and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Tourism Thong Rathasak. Recovering fast from the COVID-19 downfall, Cambodia is banking on increased arrival of foreign tourists this year, compared to the last two years. According to Rathasak, the Southeast Asian nation served over 500,000 foreign visitors in the first half of this year, and this was a good comeback compared to the number of 200,000 tourist arrivals last year.. A severe heatwave across the basin of China's longest river, the Yangtze, caused by a larger than usual Western Pacific subtropical high, has now lasted more than two months, slashing hydropower supplies and drying out large expanses of arable land. In the sprawling southwestern region of Chongqing, where most of Yangtze's Three Gorges reservoir is located, the grid is now scrambling to secure electricity from other parts of the country as supplies to industrial consumers are rationed, state media reported. South Korean girl group with Vietnamese member sets new K-pop record
Local media reported that their debut album "New Jeans" sold over 311,000 copies in just the first week after hitting the shelves on Aug. 8, setting a record for a debut album by a girl group. The record was previously held by music label mate Le Sserafim who sold 307,405 copies back in May with their album "Fearless". According to Korea JoongAng Daily , album sales in the first week are considered an important indicator of a K-pop artist or group's popularity. The lead track "Attention" has ranked first on many local online music websites like Melon, Genie, and Bugs.
