Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministries of Industry and Trade and Finance revised petrol prices upwards as of 3pm on February 25, marking the first increase since the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

The retail price of E5RON92 bio-fuel rose nearly 700 VND to 17,031 VND (0.74 USD) per litre at a maximum, while that of RON 95 increased over 700 VND to 18,084 VND per litre.

Diesel 0.05S and kerosene, meanwhile, are now no more than 13,843 VND and 12,610 VND per litre, up by around 800 VND and 700 VND, respectively.

According to the two ministries, the prices of petrol and oil in the global market have been rising strongly for 15 days, hence the adjustment.

The two review fuel prices every 15 days to ensure domestic prices are in keeping with the global market./.

Petrol prices increase from February 25

The Hanoitimes – The government raised the subsidy for E5 and RON92 from the petrol price stabilization fund by VND2,000 per liter, as well as other petroleum and gasoline products.

From 15.00 today [February 25], the retail price of biofuel E5 and RON92 rose by VND722 to around VND17,031 (US$0.74) per liter, and that of RON95-III went up by VND814 to VND18,084 (US$0.79) per liter.

The move came after the latest review on petrol prices jointly released by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance on the same day.

The two ministries agreed to raise the subsidy for E5 and RON92 from the petrol price stabilization fund by VND2,000 per liter, higher than the VND1,729 from the previous review; RON95 at VND1,150; diesel (VND850); kerosene (VND900); and mazut (VND800).

Following this adjustment, prices of E5 and RON92 would not be higher than VND17,031 per liter; RON95-III (VND18,084 per liter); diesel 0.05S (VND13,843 per liter); kerosene (VND12,610 per liter); mazut 180CST 3.5S (13,127 per kilogram).

In the previous price review meeting on February 10, before the Tet holiday, petrol prices were kept unchanged thanks to the petrol price stabilization fund.

Petrol prices hit one-year high following latest review

The price of E5 RON92 biofuel recorded an increase of VND722 to a maximum of VND17,031 per litre, whilst RON95 rose by VND814 to no more than VND18,084 per litre.

Elsewhere, Diesel 0.05S and kerosene are now on sale for no more than VND13,843 and VND12,610 per litre, marking rises of VND801 and VND702 per litre, respectively.

The price of Mazut 180CST 3.5S is now no more than VND13,127 per kg, representing an increase of VND505.

This comes after the two ministries decided to make use of the petrol price stabilisation fund, with the use for bio-fuel petrol E5 RON92 and RON95 being VND2,000 and VND1,150 per litre, respectively.

The use from the fund for diesel and kerosene was VND850 and VND900 per litre, respectively, while that of mazut was VND800 per kg.

Fuel prices are reviewed every 15 days in order to adjust domestic prices in accordance with fluctuations occurring in global markets.

Petrol prices record fifth consecutive increase, up nearly VND400 per litre

In line with the latest assessment, the retail price of E5RON92 biofuel witnessed an increase of VND 361 per litre to a maximum of VND16,309 per litre, while the price of RON95 rose by VND340 per litre to VND17,270 per litre.

Furthermore, diesel oil 0.05S and kerosene are to be sold at no more than VND13,042 per litre and VND11,908 per litre, rises of VND300 and VND350 per litre, respectively.

Meanwhile, the price of Mazut 180CST 3.5S is now at no more than VND12,622 per kg, representing an increase of VND350 per kg.

According to the two ministries, petrol and oil prices in the global market have experienced an upward trajectory over the past 15 days, therefore causing the latest adjustments.

This is the fifth consecutive time the two ministries have hiked the domestic petrol and oil prices.

The ministries have also decided to increase expenditure for the petrol price stabilisation fund at the level of between VND181 and VND1,100 for all types of petroleum products.

Petrol prices rise by over VND380 in final review of the year

In line with the latest review, the price of E5 RON92 biofuel, RON95, diesel 0.05S, and kerosene increased by VND389, VND472, VND484, and VND411 to a maximum of VND15,518, VND16,479, VND12,376, and VND11,199 per litre, respectively.

In addition, the price of Mazut witnessed a rise of VND330 per kilo to a maximum of VND12,272.

According to figures released by the two ministries, the prices of petrol and oil in the global market have seen remarkable increases in recent times, thereby leading to prices being adjusted up domestically.

The ministries have also decided to use VND1,200 per litre from the petrol price stabilisation fund for E5 RON92, VND350 per litre for RON95, and VND200 per kilo for mazut.

Petrol prices continue to rise on January 11

The most recent review saw the price of bio-fuel E5 RON 92 go up VND430 to VND15,948 per litre, whilst RON95 inched up by VND451 to reach a figure of VND16,930 per litre.

Furthermore, the ceiling prices of diesel 0.05S and kerosene were set at no more than VND12,647 and VND11,558 per litre, marking rises of VND271 and VND370 per litre, respectively.

Moreover, the price of mazut 180CST 3.5S remained unchanged and is to be sold at no more than VND12,272 per kilo.

The latest changes in petrol prices have occurred following a review of fuel prices carried out by the two ministries, a process which takes place every 15 days as a means of making relevant adjustments in accordance with fluctuations which occur on the global market. Most notably, the latest rises mark the fourth consecutive increase over the past three months.
