The second National Paragliding Club Championships 2022 opens on Ly Son Island off the coast of Quang Ngai Province on May 21. The competition comprises individual man and individual women categories and team classification. Each team is made up of a maximum of seven pilots. Pilots will take off from a point on Thoi Loi Mountain and land on the 500-square-meter area. The competition will run from May 21 to 22. Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai Province Nguyen Tien Dung said that the event aims to enhance the strength training movement and contribute to the propaganda on national sovereignty over sea and islands among people as well as promote Ly Son’s tourism. The competition is also a skill assessment test for local paragliders in order to participate in international events, he added. The market’s forward price-to-earning (P/E) ratio has declined from 14.1 to 10.9 since April, tracking the 23 percent drop by the benchmark VN-Index. The fund’s founder, Petri Deryng, said the crash came as "a complete surprise" as there was news of robust earnings growth and valuations were modest. Vietnam’s valuations are now irrational with a forward P/E ratio of 10.9 though Q1 earnings growth was 31 percent and the forecast for the full year is 19-29 percent, he said. Vietnam’s five-year historical rolling P/E has been 16.5, and even topped 20 during periods of strong earnings growth, he pointed out. "The outlook of the global stock markets cannot be ignored when assessing the possible timing of the bull runs of the Vietnamese market, but at these valuations Vietnam offers a stable economy and extremely cheap stocks," he said in a note published Thursday. While organisations have benefited from higher employee productivity levels, more needs to be done to build an inclusive culture and fully embed hybrid work arrangements to boost readiness levels and enhance employee experience. Cisco's "Employees are ready for hybrid work, are you?" study found that 70 per cent of employees in Viet Nam believe that the quality of work has improved. A similar number (67 per cent) felt that their productivity has enhanced. On top of that, 84 per cent also feel their role can now be performed just as successfully remotely as in the office. Mai and the Ambassador agreed to promote cooperation between the two countries in the fields of diplomacy, youth and cultural exchange. HCM City will offer 30-50 scholarships for Cuba students to visit and learn in the city each year as well as support the exchange of students between the two sides, the city official said. Mai suggested that the Cuban Ambassador pay attention to specific collaboration projects with the city in the fields of healthcare and teaching Spanish for the sake of cultural exchange. HCM City plans to hold several meetings this year to introduce potential cooperation areas between Cuba and the city, he said.
