Health officials call on people to get COVID-19 booster doses
The event was held by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) and the Health Ministry to launch the rollout of the third and fourth vaccine doses for state employees and workers nationwide. Huong said as of July 4, more than 233 million COVID-19 vaccine doses had been administered in Vietnam, raising the primary vaccination coverage among people aged 12 and above to approximately 100%. Amid the global uncertainties brought on by the pandemic and the current virus re-emergence in several countries, Vietnam continues detecting infections of new variants and is facing the risk of new outbreaks, she noted. HCMC has 158 testing venues in 2022 national high school graduation exam
Around 85,088 students, including 73,877 students of high schools, 7,883 test-taker of continuing education centers and 3,328 freelance candidates will take part in the 2022 national high school graduation examination with 13,656 education officials, teachers and staff teachers to serve the exam. The organization of this year’s exam remains basically the same as in previous years with three independent tests in Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Languages and a custom test in natural science Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or Social Sciences (History, Geography, and Citizen Education) chosen by the candidates. As for urgent cases, applications should be submitted at the National Public Service Portal to limit overcrowding and long waiting. Thousands of people came to the headquarters of the Immigration Office of the HCMC Police and the Vietnam Immigration Department under the Ministry of Public Security to wait for procedures for the issuance of new ordinary passports on July 5. Nguyen Van Thanh, a resident in Go Vap District, came to the office of PA08 at nearly 7 a.m. to queue in line to wait for the ordinal number. Rental assistance package for workers disbursed at snail’s pace
The government in late March issued a decision to grant a financial support package of VND6.6 trillion ($287.4 million) to help migrant workers pay rent for up to three months. The package is to be given to 3.4 million people by mid-August. As approved by the government, each worker will receive VND500,000-1 million per month over no more than three months. Two groups of beneficiaries are those who have labor contracts and have contributed to social insurance premiums via their salaries; and those that are currently working at industrial parks, export-processing zones and economic zones in 24 cities and provinces: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc, and Bac Ninh in the north, Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Binh Dinh in the central region, and Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Long An, Tien Giang, Can Tho, Ca Mau, An Giang and Kien Giang in the south.
