With the theme of “Potential – Opportunities – Development Cooperation”, the conference is expected to attract the participation of around 600 delegates, who are representatives from ministries, sectors, localities, international organisations, and the business communities both at home and abroad. PVN plans to build US$19-billion oil refinery-storage complex
The move is aimed at ensuring the country's long-term self-sufficiency in oil and oil products. Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) is planning to build an oil refinery complex worth up to US$19 billion in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau. File photo In a proposal submitted to the Government, the PVN expected the investment would be conducted in phases, of which around 70% of the capital would be allocated for the first phase. According to the PVN, Vietnam's domestic market is set to face a shortage of 19.5 million tons of petroleum products every year by 2030, and the figure could rise to 49 million tons by 2045. All rated Vietnamese scientists are working at universities, including Vietnam National University and Ton Duc Thang University. A group of 11 Vietnamese scientists was rated by Research.com, the number one research portal for scientists, in six fields namely Engineering and Technology, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Materials Science, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and Medicine. The ranking is based on D-index (Discipline H-index) which includes papers and citation values for an examined discipline in contrast to General H-index accounting for publications across all disciplines. The ranking covers 24 fields of research contributed by more than 166,000 selected scientists worldwide. Central, Central Highlands localities strengthen industry-trade cooperation

Lang Son eyes to beef up cooperation with Belarus
According to Thieu, Lang Son is focusing on building infrastructure at its border gate economic zone towards turning the province into a center of imports and exports, trade, services, and tourism activities, and an important gateway for goods exchange between ASEAN member countries and China. He said the province has focused on developing service industries associated with border-gate economic development, such as commercial services, logistics, processing of exports, and financial and banking services, while developing a synchronous transport infrastructure system to ensure convenient connections between Lang Son and other provinces in the region, and investing in building urban infrastructure and industrial zones and clusters.
