Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Bui Van Thang said the area of Ninh Binh city will be increased by four times to over 21,000 hectares. In addition to the current area, the new city will include the entire Hoa Lu district and small parts of Gia Vien, Yen Mo, Yen Khanh, Nho Quan districts and Tam Diep town. Ninh Binh city will play a role as the political, administrative, economic, cultural, historical and tourism centre of Ninh Binh province, as well as a transport hub in the southern sector of the northern coastal area. Work on roadside stations in Hoa Binh, Ninh Binh (03-04-2008) HA NOI — Construction kicked off on the first two roadside stations in Ninh Binh Province yesterday and in Hoa Binh Province last Friday. The project is being realised through the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA), under the JICA funded study on national roadside station master plan in Viet Nam, which started in February 2007. The two roadside stations, the first of their kind in Viet Nam, are scheduled to be put into operation in August 2008. They will serve as a model for future projects, providing a rest facility and a general information point, and promoting local specialities. The roadside station in Ninh Binh will cover an area of 6,000sq.m at 267km from Ha Noi on National Highway No.1A, running through Nam Thanh Ward, Ninh Binh City.
