The move came after a series of fast-spreading sub-variants of Omicron (BA.4, BA.5, BA.2.75 and BA.2.12.1) were reported in the country. According to the ministry’s General Department of Preventive Medicine, the number of COVID-19 cases has been on the rise in both Vietnam and around the world. The country is currently recording an average of about 2,000 new cases each day. The number of new cases is believed to be on the rise again. Fire engulfs ancient house inside Quoc Tu Giam relic site in Hue City
The firefighters try to extinguish the flame. Thua Thien - Hue Province History Museum used the place to display artifacts featuring revolutionary movements during the resistance war against the French colonialists. In a short time, an intense flame broke out in the entire house. The museum staff screamed for help and quickly brought the exhibits outside. Fire trucks, dozens of firefighters and police forces were sent to the scene to control the fire and prevent it from spreading. The fire was finally extinguished after an hour later. A portion of the roof of the house collapsed after the incident. The fire's cause is under investigation. N.A. Standing Committee scrutinizes draft Law on Civil Defense
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, presented a Government proposal saying the bill is set to create a framework for the prevention and response to disasters and incidents, while protecting people’s assets and health. It also aims to deal with loopholes in the legal system, ensuring civil defense, he added. With seven chapters and 75 articles, the document focuses on six policies regarding the evaluation of disaster and incident risks in civil defense, assignment in State management and decentralization in the organization of prevention and response activities, civilian protection measures, the organizational revamp of National Civil Defense Steering Committee, big data application, and emergencies in civil defense. VPA’s General Staff launches sports festival in 2022
The practical program aims to create a chance for troops to exchange as well as to evaluate training quality and sports activities among its affiliated units. In addition, it also contributes to raising training quality and the organization of training and sports activities at all levels, meeting task requirements in the current context. Via the festival, the organizing board will select outstanding athletes to take part in other festivals in the whole military. This year’s event draws the participation of 450 athletes from 23 units. They compete in tennis and volleyball contents. Naval Region 2 stands side by side with fishermen
