More eco-friendly buses to run on Hanoi streets
Hanoi plans to roll out additional busses fuelled by compressed natural gas (CNG) in the third quarter.(Photo: hanoimoi.com.vn) Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi plans to roll out additional busses fuelled by compressed natural gas (CNG) in the third quarter to ease traffic congestion and lessen environmental pollution, the municipal Department of Transport’s Public Transport Management and Operation Centre said. The buses will run on four routes of Kim Lu (Soc Son district)- Nam Thang Long (Bac Tu Liem district), Cau Giay-Tam Hiep (Thanh Tri district), Nhon (Bac Tu Liem district)- Tho An (Dan Phuong district), and Yen Nghia (Ha Dong District)- Hoai Duc. This is part of the project to enhance public transport service quality and develop bus system in the capital city during 2016-2020 with vision until 2025. Vietnam launches 2020 UPU letter-writing contest
The 2020 UPU letter-writing competition was launched on December 6 at a ceremony held in Thanh Cong Secondary School in Hanoi, marking the 33rd time that such a contest has been held in Vietnam. The letters must be handwritten, no more than 800 words long and have not been published in newspapers or books. The contestants can write their letters in any language but foreign-language letters must be accompanied by their translations into Vietnamese, which is the language used for judgement. The letters are to be sent to Thieu nien Tien phong (Young Pioneers) Newspaper at 5 Hoa Ma Street, Hanoi, no later than February 25 according to the postmark date. Following this, the team won their second round match against Indonesia on December 5. Despite the Vietnamese women’s team twice falling behind, they eventually fought back to record a 3-2 victory over their rivals. Following two strong victories, Vietnam have booked their ticket into the final of the competition.
