Science Switch was launched as a part of Bayer's global initiative "Making Science Make Sense" (MSMS) to help develop science literacy among students in a different and effective way. Taking place at Khan Quang Do's offices, the launch event welcomed around 80 participants representing OUCRU, Bayer, the publisher and project team members, including scientists, content developers and editors. More than 60 students from secondary and high schools in Ho Chi Minh City also attended the event. This year, the project content will mainly focus on selected topics from secondary and high school science textbooks, based on a vote by students, and feature three methods of learning including science infographics (reading), science explainer videos (watching), and online science quizzes (practicing). Vietnamese cultural village to be built in RoK
Briefing on a plan for the construction of the village, Park asked the Embassy of Vietnam in the RoK for support to the project which aims to mark the 30th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties (December 22, 1992 – 2022), to expand people-to-people exchange, and to promote Vietnam’s cultural experience in the RoK. According to Park, the village will be developed on a ground of 38,350 sq.m. It is expected to attract around 100,000 visitors and generate some 3.7 billion won (2.8 million USD) in revenue annually. Local authorities also hope that project will create jobs for nearly half a million of local residents. The Vietnamese village in Bonghwa forms part of a project planned to step up cultural exchange and accelerate cooperation between Bonghwa and Vietnam in tourism, culture and education. HCMC launches online land data platform
The platform comprises the two websites geodata-stnmt.tphcm.gov.vn and esb-stnmt.tphcm.gov.vn to store a total 450 resource and environmental data files of the whole city, including information on subdivision, land area, zoning plans, land use purposes and land subsidence, Bui Hong Son, director of the information-technology center under the Department of Natural Resources and Environment announced Wednesday. "This platform is similar to Google Maps, and businesses and citizens can use data from it, like ride-hailing firms use Google’s remote sensing data for their services," he said. Son said before the platform was launched, anyone that needs to get access to such data had to send a report to the department to ask for permission and wait for approval.
