175 COVID-19 patients given all-clear on June 20 The Ministry of Health reported that 94 new COVID-19 cases had been detected in the six hours from 12pm to 6pm June 20, all local infections. Ho Chi Minh City reported the most cases with 57, while 23 cases were detected in Bac Giang, 9 in Da Nang, three in Bac Ninh, and two in Nghe An. With the new cases, the total number recorded on June 20 amounted to 311, including 11 imported. The national tally rose to 13,211 as of 6pm June 20, including 11,513 domestic cases. 175 patients were given the all-clear from the virus on the day while the death toll related to the disease rose to 66. Over 300,000 people escape illiteracy in eight years Literacy classes have been organized for more than 300,000 people aged 15 – 60, over the last eight years, the Ministry of Education and Training unveiled during a recent video teleconference (VTC). The national VTC was held on June 18 to review the implementation of a project on building a learning society from 2012 – 2020. The ministry said thanks to the project, the network of educational establishments was expanded nationwide. The country now has over 17,000 continuing education centres, providing non-formal education for out-of-school youth and adults. There are also more than 10,000 community learning centres across the country. The country has completed universalisation of pre-school education for five-year-old children and primary education for children of school age. The 13th Party Congress Resolution says Vietnam aims to become a developed country with high income by 2045, when it will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the country's establishment. This means that Vietnam has 24 more years to reach that goal. And it will be very difficult to turn this into reality if Vietnam still cannot become a ‘developing country with modern industry and higher average income’ by 2030.
