The 13th National Party Congress was prepared very carefully. I believe that it marks a new period for the country’s development. Despite difficulties and challenges, Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular will still perform well the “dual tasks” of developing socio-economics and controlling the Covid-19 pandemic.

As officials and people of Hanoi, we believe in the construction of a clean and strong political system of the Party. As for Hanoi City, in recent years, the capital has intensified in implementing the tasks set out in the Resolution of the 17th Hanoi Party Congress. Based on the achievements in 2020, I believe that Hanoi will develop steadily in 2021.

This Congress is an important milestone as it sets out the vision and goals for the nation’s socio-economic development in the next five years, as well as until 2030 when we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Party’s establishment and by 2045 for the 100th anniversary of the country’s founding.

In this Congress, I pay special attention to human resources because I expect the next team of leadership of the Party and State will have virtue and talents to lead our country as well as promoting the renovation and integration to a new level of development.

People have high expectations for this Congress. Although the whole country and the world faced many difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam was still firm in its development path and has maintained the political and social security. Pandemics and natural disasters have even strengthened the people’s solidarity.

Being a city resident, I hope that the leaders of the Party and State in the next term pay more attention and invest in the capital as well as contributing to promoting the general socio-economic development of the country.

The 13th Congress of the Party takes place in the context that everyone is excited about the achievements that Vietnam has attained in recent years, reaching new height in the world arena. Therefore, I totally believe in the success of the ongoing Congress that will make our Party ever stronger and our country to gain greater achievements.

I hope that the Congress will adopt more guidelines, policies and solutions to improve the leadership capacity and strength of Party’s organizations as well as building a good team of cadres and party members and creatively applying the Party’s policies in the actual situation of the locality.

As a party member, I am very excited to welcome the Congress and believe in its success, as it will stamp a mark in history for continuing leading our country and the people to comprehensive socio-economic development, and achieving success in diplomacy, social and political security and defense for a prosperous and happy life. I also hope that in the next term, Hanoi will continue to innovate and develop, as well as solving traffic and environmental problems.

The Residential Area No. 3 is the first in implementing the “Five Nos” of Thanh Xuan district, including no trash, no poor, no social evil, no trade on the roadsides and no construction violation.

Kim Giang is the first ward in the district where 100 per cent of the residents have implemented it excellently. In the coming time, our Subdivision of the residential area will implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, contributing to building the rich, beautiful and civilized capital and the country.

The Hanoitimes – Banners, flowers and flags can be seen everywhere, the whole city looks fresh and vibrant as if it just worn a new coat. According the plan, 13th National Party Congress will be held from January 25, 2021 to February 2, 2021 in Hanoi.

Hanoi in mid-January appears to be more resplendent and colorful than ever with vivid decorations, flower baskets and banners to welcome the two most important and significant events of the year: the traditional Vietnamese lunar New Year of the Buffalo and the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party.

As a major political event of the country which will draw great public attention, preparations for the 13th Party Congress started in Hanoi very early. The whole city is ready to welcome party delegations from all over the country.

The iconic red flag with a gold hammer crossed with a gold sickle of the Communist Party, and national red flags with yellow stars are hung in clusters, brightening the streets.

The whole city has decorated 27 panel clusters and 400 vertical banners.

Eight main streets of Hanoi that was decorated with flowers, flags and posters to welcome the important politic event include Ba Trieu, Hang Bai, Phan Dinh Phung, Dien Bien Phu, Thanh Nien, Pham Hung, Thang Long and Vo Chi Cong.

In addition, 3,000 flags have been hanging on the flag racks in Hanoi’s downtown streets such as the area around the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, City Party Committee, People’s Council, City People’s Committee and Hoan Kiem Lake.

The streets of Hanoi’s downtown, especially in Ba Dinh district, are carefully decorated and clean, being ready to welcome the delegates who will arrive in the capital for the important meeting.

After hanging flags, panels, and posters, Hanoi capital will continue to decorate the streets with lights and flower carpets, prior to the opening date of the 13th National Congress of the Party.

Propaganda posters and banners were installed in the area of State Bank, Hanoi Opera House. Meanwhile, the area around Hoan Kiem Lake is also tinted red as flags of the nation and the Party are hang profusely, ready for the opening day of the Party Congress.

The propaganda and poster display has created a spring-filled atmosphere within the city showcasing the faith of Hanoi people in the success of the 13th National Party Congress as well as their hospitality to visitors who come to the capital on this occasion.

The Hanoitimes – On February 1, 2021, the 13th National Party Congress wrapped up, two days ahead of schedule, completing all the scheduled contents and assigned tasks.

With 63 delegates, representing more than 450,000 party members, the delegation of Hanoi municipal Party Committee made important contributions to the overall success of the Congress.

The Hanoitimes – Participants to the upcoming National Party Congress will have their samples taken for a RT-PCR test between January 18 and 23.

Over 4,000 delegates to the upcoming 13th National Party Congress, Vietnam’s most important political event, will be tested twice for Covid-19.

Director of the Hanoi Department of Health Nguyen Khac Hien revealed at a recent online meeting held by the municipal Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

Participants will have their samples taken for a real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test between January 18 and 23, and the second test will be done two days before the congress, which is scheduled to be held from January 25 to February 2.

The municipal Health Department has finalized the preparation of biological products and equipment to test the virus for all participants at the congress.

Besides, reporters, editors, and technicians who are assigned to work at the 13th National Party Congress will be tested for Covid-19 to ensure absolute safety for the congress, according to the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education.

The commission’s official dispatch sent recently to the press said the sample of Covid-19 test will be collected twice: at least seven days before the congress and two or three days ahead of the congress.

The Press Center of the 13th National Party Congress will only issue permit to reporters, editors, and technicians who will have negative test result for coronavirus, the commission said.

Hanoi has gone over five months without local transmission of Covid-19. Meanwhile, Vietnam has not reported any community transmission of the coronavirus in the last 46 consecutive days.

At the time of writing, the country has reported 1,537 Covid-19 cases so far. Among them, 1,380 patients have recovered, while fatalities remain at 35.

The Hanoitimes – Nearly 1,600 representatives of Party members nationwide will discuss tasks and orientations for the country’s socio-economic development in the future.

Nearly 1,600 representatives of the CPV attend the event, which take place until February 2.

The Congress will review the implementation of the 12th Party Congress’s Resolution and the socio-economic development strategies in the 2011-20 period, the 10-year implementation of the platform on national construction in the period of transition to socialism, and 35 years of doi moi (Renewal) process.

The Congress will also map out tasks and directions for the socio-economic development strategy in the period 2021-2030 with a national development vision to 2045, in which Vietnam will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and National Reunification in 2025, the Party will celebrate its centennial anniversary in 2030, and the 100th National Day will be commemorated in 2045.

The Hanoitimes – The collection is set to be available on public postal network from January 22 until December 31, 2022.

The Ministry of Information and Communications and the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education launched a stamp collection on January 22 to celebrate the 13th National Party Congress.

The 43×32 mm stamp was designed by artist To Minh Trang of the Vietnam Post Corporation. The item features a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh and a red flag with a crossed gold hammer and sickle in the background.

The stamp also features the number thirteen in Roman numerals to signify the upcoming 13th National Party Congress which is scheduled to take place between January 25 and February 2.

The collection is set to be available on public postal network from January 22 until December 31, 2022.

Since the 3rd National Party Congress in 1960, Vietnam Post has issued a stamp collection every time a Party National Congress is held. The stamps have shown the vibrant emulation spirit, upheld the cause of defending the Fatherland, building socialism and highlighted the great achievements of the Vietnamese Revolution.

A corner showcasing publications on the 13th National Party Congress was also opened at the International Convention Center.

Covering 300 square meters, the corner display 2,000 publications from major media organizations and 30 publishing houses. A highlight of the exhibition is an area zoned off for e-books, with a total of 152 titles.

A book store is arranged besides the exhibition, in which the 406 books on President Ho Chi Minh are arranged in the shape of a Vietnam map, with the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.
