Historic flooding causes VND1 trillion damage in Muong Lat
According to representatives from Muong Lat district in Thanh Hoa province, people in flood-hit areas will receive aid and assistance over the next two days. Earlier, with the support from businesses, relevant units transported more than 4 tons of rice and over 700 cartons of instant noodles to residents in Muong Lat district. Floods have left 7 people dead and many missing, while 139 houses were completely destroyed and 541 houses had to be evacuated. Fifteen schools, 25 irrigational dams and hundreds of hectares of subsidiary crops have been ruined while thousands of poultry and cattle are buried under rock and mud. Prolonged rains and the flooding isolated and disrupted traffic on the national road No.217 and the provincial road No.521D connecting to Muong Lat district.
