Jointly held by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand, the event gathered representatives from enterprises and business associations in Da Nang, and 40 businessmen who are overseas Vietnamese in Thailand. Vietnam proposes measures to foster Mekong-Lancang cooperation in post-pandemic recovery
Vietnam’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son has recommended four measures for beefing up the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) to promote growth and sustainable development from the COVID-19 pandemic. Minister Son was speaking at the seventh MLC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in Bagan, Myanmar on Monday, centered around 'Solidarity for Peace and Prosperity.' The event was attended by foreign ministers from the six member countries of the MLC mechanism, including China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son made the remarks when attending the 7th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Foreign Ministers' Meeting held Monday in Myanmar. Son said Vietnam always attaches importance to the MLC and is willing to make effective contributions to strengthen cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated. He highlighted that China and countries in the Mekong sub-region should guarantee the MLC gives priority to economic growth and sustainable development so that the people will benefit.
