At the forum (Photo: VNA) Da Nang (VNA) - A forum to connect businesses in Da Nang and enterprises owned by overseas Vietnamese (OVs) in Thailand took place in the central city on July 4. Jointly held by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand, the event  gathered representatives from enterprises and business associations in Da Nang, and 40 businessmen who are overseas Vietnamese in Thailand. Addressing the event, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee Ngo Thi Kim Yen said the forum aims to boost trade and investment cooperation between firms from Da Nang and Thailand, contributing to strengthening bilateral relations across all fields. Vietnam proposes measures to foster Mekong-Lancang cooperation in post-pandemic recovery

Vietnam’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son has recommended four measures for beefing up the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) to promote growth and sustainable development from the COVID-19 pandemic. Minister Son was speaking at the seventh MLC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in Bagan, Myanmar on Monday, centered around 'Solidarity for Peace and Prosperity.' The event was attended by foreign ministers from the six member countries of the MLC mechanism, including China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. Participants highly appreciated the MLC’s recent contributions to regional cooperation and development, especially amid the complicated developments of COVID-19, and discussed coordination in organizing the second MLC Ministerial Meeting on Water Resources in Vietnam this year. Vietnam proposes solutions to foster Mekong-Lancang cooperation

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son made the remarks when attending the 7th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Foreign Ministers' Meeting held Monday in Myanmar. Son said Vietnam always attaches importance to the MLC and is willing to make effective contributions to strengthen cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated. He highlighted that China and countries in the Mekong sub-region should guarantee the MLC gives priority to economic growth and sustainable development so that the people will benefit. Vietnam attends 7th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

MLC Foreign Ministers at the meeting (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son led a Vietnam ese delegation to the seventh Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting that was held in Bagan, Myanmar on July 4. Participants lauded the MLC's contributions to regional cooperation and development, especially amid complicated developments of COVID-19. Two-way trade between Mekong countries and China reached nearly 400 billion USD in 2021, up 23 percent over 2020, they noted, adding that many projects were completed and hundreds of technical support projects are being underway.
