British Council Vietnam grants 30 scholarships to East Asian students

According to the plan, there will be three scholarships each worth VND180 million (US$ 7,768) locally, 30 other scholarships for students in the East Asian regions including three excellent applicants who will receive scholarship each worth VND1.2 billion Applicants must hold a minimum band score of 6 in each of the four test sections of an IELTS test taken with the British Council in the East Asia region from 1 April 2019 onwards. The deadline for applications is 30 April 2020. No limit of major and nations. Interview round will take place in June, 2020. The jury will announce result in July, 2020. Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue Setting the scene At last week’s Vietnam M&A Forum 2018 in Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue confirmed that the Vietnamese government is working diligently to provide a healthy, transparent, and conducive investment environment, the goal of which is to stimulate the development of the Vietnamese mergers and acquisitions (M&A) market both in quantity and quality, growing in line with economic development orientations. “M&A is becoming an attractive channel of investment as well as an important part of Vietnam’s economic restructuring, boosting the efficiency and competitiveness of the economy and businesses in the country,” said DPM Hue in his opening speech at the forum, which gathered more than 500 senior leaders from government agencies, organisations, leading businesses, and investment funds from both Vietnam and overseas. Government approves Tuyen Quang-Phu Tho expressway project

The expressway will be built after three years of delay (Photo: vnexpress.net) Hanoi (VNA) - The Government has approved the construction of an expressway connecting the northern provinces of Tuyen Quang and Phu Tho under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) format after three years of delays. The expressway with 40.2km long, including 11km of road will be built in Tuyen Quang province and the rest in Phu Tho province. It will start in Tuyen Quang province's Tuyen Quang city and end at Phu Tho province's Phu Tho township. The expressway will link with the Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway. The four-lane road is designed with the speed of 80kph. The project is implemented under the public-private partnership model with a total investment of more than 3.2 trillion VND (138 million USD). National public service portal formally launched

According to the Government Office, in the last 9 months, it cooperated with related ministries & sectors, and local authorities to standardize and upgrade necessary databases for administrative procedures regarding citizens and businesses in order to integrate them for the services launched on the portal. This public service portal, an essential milestone in the implementation of the people-centered and enterprise-centered approach, aims at delivering transparent information about administrative procedures as well as actually carrying out these practical works online. The portal is supposed to save more than VND4,200 billion (approx. US$181.4 million) per year.
