Cultural industry to contribute to 10% of Hanoi’s GRDP by 2045
The city plans to raise the cultural industry’s contribution to GRDP to 5% by 2025 and 8% by 2030. From now to 2025, Hanoi will focus its efforts on boosting a number of cultural industries in line with local advantages and potential, including cultural tourism, handicraft, performing arts, cinema, designing, culinary, entertainment software and games, advertising, architecture, photography and exhibition, fashion, television and radio and publishing. By the end of this decade, the capital also sets to turn the cultural industry into a key economic sector driving the others’ growth. Vietnam seeks strengthening financial resources to advance gender equality
They suggested ways to apply gender-responsible budgeting, ensure that the needs of women, men and others are fully considered throughout the budget cycle, and reinforce supervision by the communities, such as civil organizations and people, over public investment budget allocation from a gender perspective. Shares eke out gains in HCM but investors watch out at high price range

Vingroup (VIC) was the biggest contibutor to the VN-Index yesterday with a growth of 2.1 per cent. — VNS Photo Mai Huong Shares eked out a gain in HCM City but lost ground in the last trading minutes in Ha Noi amid rising investor caution at the high price range. On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, the VN-Index inched up 0.05 per cent to close yesterday at 1,275.28 points – its third rally session this week and fourth since last Friday. The market breadth was negative, however, with 191 stocks rising, 252 falling and 118 closing flat. Realty stocks backed the market as half the top 10 shares lifting the VN-Index were real estate firms. Vingroup (VIC) was the biggest contributor with a growth of 2.1 per cent, followed by No Va Land Investment Group (NVL), Phat Dat Real Estate Development (PDR) and Investment and Industrial Development Corp (BCM) with gains of between 1.7 per cent and 7 per cent. Vietnam’s economy recovers strongly amid global instability: ADB
ADB experts at the press conference (Photo: Vietnam+) Hanoi (VNA) - ADB experts forecast that Vietnam's economy could recover at 6.5 percent this year and grow stronger at 6.7 percent in 2023, due to high vaccination rates and the implementation of expansionary fiscal policies. On April 6, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) released the Asian Development Outlook Report (ADO 2022), which stated that the Vietnamese economy is ready for a strong recovery in the context of global economy instability. GDP reaches a high level ADB experts forecast that Vietnam's economy could recover at a rate of 6.5 percent this year and grow stronger at 6.7 percent in 2023 due to high vaccination rates, trade promotion and continued implementation of expansionary fiscal and monetary policies. Imported cancer drug batches toxic: health ministry
Around 3,042 packets of Capetero 500 were imported into Vietnam by the Dong Duong Complex Distribution Company, based in Ho Chi Minh City’s Thu Duc City. The drug is used to treat certain kinds of cancer including breast and colorectal cancer. However, the drug also contains capecitabine, a chemotherapy medication taken by mouth, with common side effects like abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea. This ingredient is including in Vietnam’s list of toxic drugs and toxic medicinal ingredients. The ministry has asked that the drugs be shipped out of Vietnam, failing which they will be destroyed. The Dong Duong company has been fined VND160 million ($6,836) and banned from importing drugs and medicinal ingredients for nine months by the Drug Administration of Vietnam.
