Activities to celebrate the day of honoring the Vietnamese language will be held throughout the year and will be integrated into festivals and special occasions in the country. September 8 has been designated as an annual day to honor the Vietnamese language under a decision signed by Deputy Prime Minister Binh Minh approving a project to celebrate the mother tongue in the overseas Vietnamese community from 2023 to 2030. The government of Vietnam has awarded 'The Fatherland Acknowledges the Merit' Certificate to three firefighters for sacrificing their lives in an effort to extinguish an inferno at a karaoke parlor in Cau Giay District, Hanoi this week. The decision was signed by Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh on Tuesday in recognition of the bravery of Colonel Dang Anh Quan -- the 45-year-old leader of the fire prevention and control team of the Cau Giay public security division -- 24-year-old Lieutenant Do Duc Viet, and 19-year-old corporal Nguyen Dinh Phuc.
