China starts importing Vietnam passion fruit

Passion fruit is among Vietnam’s top 10 fruits with the highest export earnings. China’s customs have authorized the import of passion fruit from Vietnam from July 2022, the first time for this kind of fruit, which is listed among Vietnam’s top 10 fruits with the highest export earnings. Ho Chi Minh City proposes international transit terminal in Can Gio

Vietnamese Gov’t targets GDP growth of 7% in 2022

Vietnam’s economy has been firm on the recovery track, with the GDP growth in the second quarter at 7.72% year-on-year, the highest second-quarter growth since 2011. Based on Vietnam’s economic performance in the first six months of the year and expectations for the remainder of 2022, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) expected the economic expansion rate may hit 7% this year, 0.5 percentage points higher than the Government’s target of 6.5%. Ministry proposes to waive all tuition fees for secondary school students

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son At the regular Government meeting in the first six months today, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son proposed the Government issue a Resolution on tuition fees for the 2022-2023 school year so that institutions timely implementation. At the same time, it is proposed that the Government assign the Ministry of Education and Training to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with other ministries and sectors in, amending Decree No. 81/2021/ND-CP (Decree 81) to serve as a legal basis for implementation from the school year 2023- 2024 on tuition-related content. HCMC strives to reduce drowning death rate in children

Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City set a target of 50 percent of children from six to under 16 years old knowing how to swim safely; 90 percent of households accessing information, knowledge, and skills on incidents prevention related to drowning in children in 2025 and 95 percent in 2030. Besides, the city also strives to meet the target of reducing ten percent of death rate in children due to drowning in 2025 and the figure will achieve 20 percent in 2030 compared to in 2020. The city required the relevant units to strengthen the propaganda, education and social mobilization to raise people’s awareness, knowledge and skills on preventing drowning in children, families, schools, communities and society. Vietnam to compete in 4 World Games events

The delegation includes Vietnam's number one cueist Tran Quyet Chien (billiards), Hoang Thi Phuong Giang, Duong Thuy Vi and Pham Quoc Khanh (wushu), Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat (muay Thai) and the women's beach handball team. At the previous event hosted in Poland in 2017, Vietnam scored one gold medal thanks to muay athlete Bui Yen Ly.
