Russian experts have joined the preservation of President Ho Chi Minh’s body for over 50 years since he passed away in 1969. Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh today met a delegation of Russian scientists to whom he extended thanks for their support in keeping the embalmed body of Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh unharmed. Shinhan Life Vietnam continues to support children with blood cancer

SHB gets approval to raise capital

The bank was given the nod on capital expansion. — Photo courtesy of SHB The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has given the Saigon Hanoi Commercial JS Bank (SHB) the go-ahead to raise its charter capital to VNĐ26,674 billion (US$1.1 billion). The rise is the first part of SHB's plan to reach VNĐ36,459 billion in capital in 2022 to position itself among the three private commercial banks with the largest charter capital. SHB said it had submitted the plan, passed by its shareholder general meeting, to SBV for approval. Under the plan, SHB was also set to pay a dividend yield of 15 per cent to its existing shareholders for the financial year 2021 and offer a total of 45.12 million new shares for VNĐ12,500 apiece to its employees and the shareholders. By late June, SHB had VNĐ522 trillion in total assets, VNĐ471 trillion in total deposits and VNĐ390 trillion in total credit. Viet Nam seeks foreign investment in medical devices production

The market is now worth US$1.5 billion, up from US$1.1 billion in 2017, Hua Phu Doan, deputy chairman of the association, said. Domestic medical devices manufacturers make mostly basic stuff and meet only 10 per cent of demand while the remaining 90 per cent is imported, he told a meeting held recently in HCM City. The number of foreign manufacturers in Viet Nam remains modest due to the lack of development of supporting industries and the absence of an industrial cluster in this sector, he said. NextTech and Ngan Luong fund BOXME to expand its operations

NextTech is a multi-platform ecosystem operating in e-commerce, fintech, logistics and education with annual online tractions of $5 billion whereas Ngan Luong is a popular online payment gateway with 35 million transactions carried out daily.
