At the reception, General Vinh highly appreciated Ambassador Daniel J.Kritenbrink’s contributions to Vietnam-U.S. cooperation over the past time, especially in dealing with war legacy. He hoped that in his new position, the U.S. diplomat will continue supporting Vietnam in this field.
Vinh also expected that relevant U.S. agencies will continue cooperating with Steering Committee 701 to effectively carry out cooperation projects and foster information dissemination to help the Vietnamese and U.S. citizens and people around the world learn more about the two countries’ efforts and achievements in overcoming consequences of war.
For his part, the U.S. diplomat expressed his delight at the outcomes of bilateral cooperation in treating dioxin-contaminated land, detecting and clearing unexploded ordnance, supporting those with deformities caused by war, searching for troops missing in action during the war, and sharing experience in U.N. peacekeeping operations.
On the occasion, Ambassador Daniel J.Kritenbrink handed over documents that highlight the two countries’ cooperation in overcoming post-war consequences.
