Medical authorities in Ho Chi Minh City have set out a plan to gradually close a number of field hospitals for COVID-19 treatment once socio-economic activities are resumed. Schools, dormitories, apartment buildings, cultural houses, and parts of hospitals that had been requisitioned for COVID-19 quarantine and treatment purposes will return to their original functions as approximately 40 percent of the city’s active patients are under home treatment and the number of patients discharged from hospitals is increasing day by day. There are six criteria for catering service providers and seven for supermarkets, shopping malls, and food retailers. Recovered COVID-19 patients can contribute to Ho Chi Minh City’s pandemic prevention and control efforts provided they meet certain requirements laid down by the municipal health department. The increasing number of coronavirus cases in Ho Chi Minh City has been posing a lot of difficulties for health workers at local treatment and quarantine facilities, according to the municipal Department of Health.
