Millions of children, including those in Vietnam, are victims of physical, sexual, and emotional violence in families, schools, and the internet. The Vietnamese Government has been making unremitting efforts to end violence against women and children over the past years, paying special attention to the negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on people. Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) Nguyen Thi Ha made the statement at the launching ceremony for the Blue Heart Campaign 2022 held in Hanoi on July 5. It was reported at the meeting that 47 out of the total 80 sub-items in the joint initiative have been well implemented as scheduled so far, 15 are underway, six make no progress, and work will start on 12 others in the time ahead. Do Nhat Hoang, head of the Foreign Investment Agency under the MPI, said Vietnamese ministries and agencies have coordinated with the Japanese side to implement commitments in the action plan of the initiative. Vietnam’s commitment to materialising the joint initiative manifests the government’s resolve to improve the domestic investment environment, he said. Do Thi Thu Hoai, an employee in Phu Tho province, said: “I have been working at this company here for five years, but the allowances have remained the same for me. “I see that several other companies provide an amount for accommodation support, but here we don’t receive any.” Each month, she receives her base salary of VND4.4 million (US$188), alongside the allowances of VND300,000 for diligent attendance, VBD150,000 for fuel charges, and VND30,000 for female employees. Thanh Hoa shows strong performance in State budget collection
Nghi Son 1 power plant in Thanh Hoa (Source: baothanhhoa.vn) Thanh Hoa (VNA) – The central province of Thanh Hoa collected about 26.33 trillion VND (1.12 billion USD) to the State budget in the first six months of this year, completing 94% of its plan for the period. According to the provincial Department of Finance, domestic collection was estimated at 16.67 trillion VND, fulfilling 97% of the target for the whole year. Of the total, collection from land use fee was over 7.77 trillion VND. Meanwhile, collection from foreign-invested firms exceeded 3.25 trillion VND, and income from the non-State-owned sector topped 1.44 trillion VND. At the same time, income from import and export activities in the first six months of this year hit over 9.65 trillion VND, equivalent to 88% of the plan.
