Transmission boost to remove major power bottlenecks

The first 500kV super-high voltage power transmission line invested by Trungnam Construction and Investment JSC has been operating stably for more than a year. Trungnam’s project includes a 500kV substation and transmission lines combined with a 450MW solar power plant, promoting its advantages when participating in the power grid of Ninh Thuan province and the south-central coastal region. Pham Nhu Anh, member of the Executive Board of Military Bank, which arranged capital for Trungnam to invest in transmission infrastructure, pointed out that capital is still a bottleneck in Vietnam’s electrical infrastructure development. Vietnam, U.S. enhance cooperation in searching and collecting martyrs’ remains

The event was attended by former Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) Lieutenant General Le Van Han, Chairman of the association Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung, leaders of the association, representative of the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam, Harvard University, the American Institute of Peace. During the event, the association provided U.S. delegates with information about the search and collection of martyrs’ remains. Accordingly, the association has collected and publicized information of 115,000 martyrs on mass media; helped more than 20,000 martyrs’ families search for the remains of their relatives with more than 200 remains founded; provided free consultation for more than 1,000 DNA assessment cases; and coordinated with localities to move nearly 1,000 remains of martyrs in cemeteries back to their hometowns. Vietnam’s next steps in the fight to eradicate child labor

Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha shared Vietnam’s plans to eradicate child labor at a conference in South Africa on Tuesday. At the fifth Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labor in Durban, South Africa, Ha spoke about the pivotal role that childhood education plays in reducing the risk of children leaving school to find work. Currently, about 94.4 percent of Vietnamese children have access to education thanks to government policies to make primary and secondary education compulsory, eradicate illiteracy, and reduce or exempt tuition fees for poor, disabled, ethnic minority, and underprivileged children. The Vietnamese government also has policies which help these marginalized groups gain access to health insurance and other social welfare programs. Vietnam wins two more SEA Games 31 golds in canoeing

Truong Thi Phuong, Nguyen Thi Huong, Diep Thi Huong and Nguyen Thi Tuyet claimed a gold medal after finishing first in the women’s 1,000m quadruples, leaving the runner-up Indonesia over 10 seconds behind. Pham Hong Quan and Hien Nam secured another gold in the men’s 1,000m doubles after completing the race just about a second before silver medalists from Thailand.
