Le Thi Bao Tran, a young white-collar worker in Ho Chi Minh City, has spent the past eight years moving between rented rooms, doing her best to save up enough money to purchase a home of her own. Like other young, white-collar workers who have moved to Ho Chi Minh City to pursue their careers, Tran hopes to eventually purchase a home in the city, but the rising cost of real estate has kept that dream out of reach. A lifelong dream Tran spent her college years moving between rental apartments in Binh Thanh District. At one point, she shared a tiny 10-square-meter apartment with a friend for just VND1.1 million ($47) per month, including utilities. As the high school entrance and graduation exams are starting in a few weeks, final-year students at middle and high schools are as busy as a bee at back-to-back extra classes. Some students leave their extra classes and return home at 9:30 pm every day. Teacher found beating little boy, covering his head with plastic bag in Vietnam
A teacher at a private kindergarten in northern Vietnam has been found to have used a black plastic bag to cover the head of a 27-month-old boy and beat on his buttocks. In video footage which was spreading on social media, the teacher in Bao Dap Commune, Tran Yen District, Yen Bai Province took the plastic bag off the boy’s head and took him outside after realizing a camera was in the classroom. The authorities Tran Yen District are verifying the video footage, which aroused public indignation. Downpours submerge multiple locations in northern Vietnam
Heavy downpours submerged multiple places in northern Vietnam on Monday morning, with Vinh Yen City in Vinh Phuc Province suffering the most serious flooding. Rainfall ranging from 70 to 190 millimeters battered many provinces in the region early on Monday morning, the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting reported. In Vinh Yen City, Vinh Phu Province, a torrential rain resulted in severe inundation in various locations.
