(Photo: SGGP) With a 100 percent medal-winning rate, including one gold and three silver medals, the Vietnamese national team ranks in the top nine countries and territories, after China, Japan, the US, South Korea, Iran, Ukraine, Croatia, and Taiwan, according to the medal tally. Specifically, Tran Xuan Bach, an eleventh grader of the High School for Gifted Students, College of Natural Science, under the Vietnam National University (VNU), won the gold medal. (Photo: Ministry of Education and Training) Hanoi (VNA) – All four students in the Vietnamese team have brought home a medal at the 34th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2022) hosted by Indonesia. Tran Xuan Bach, a 11th grader at the HUS High School for Gifted Students, Vietnam National University, won a gold medal at the competition. The three silver medalists are all 12th grade students, including Duong Minh Khoi also from HUS High School for Gifted Students, Le Huu Nghia from Binh Long High School for Gifted Students in Binh Phuoc, and Truong Van Quoc Bao from Nghe An’s Phan Boi Chau High School for Gifted Students. Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Le Minh Ngan underpinned the importance of the national marine spatial master plan, saying its objectives are to properly delineate and zone off sea spaces for different sectors based on the incorporation of planning of sea-based industries; and to orient the use of sea spaces and address overlaps and conflicts in exploiting marine spaces. Drafting the master plan is a challenging and complex task, given that it has never been done before in Vietnam, Ngan noted, adding that utilizing existing data and information, it will zone off the marine spaces based on natural ecosystems to provide a connecting space for socio-economic development, enhance land-to-sea connectivity and protect national security-defence and international cooperation. The event was attended by the PAN’s Managing Editor Senior Colonel Le Ngoc Long and Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 5 (MR5) Senior Colonel Nguyen Ba Hung, together with representatives of the PAN, and 51 trainees who are political officers and PAN’s collaborators in military units in the Central and Central Highlands region. Addressing the event, Senior Colonel Long recalled heroic traditions of the PAN, while affirming the importance of the course which helps raising the quantity and quality of reporters in the military. This is an occasion for trainees to raise their journalism knowledge and competence. They will be guided on how to write articles, take photos, make video clips and radio news and reports with good quality and efficiency.
