A total 5,298 COVID-19 patients were given the all clear on the day, bringing the number of recoveries so far to 10,040,338. There are 226 patients in serious conditions needing breathing support . Three deaths from COVID-19 were recorded in the past 24 hours, lilting the total number of fatalities to 43,103. Vietnam reports nearly 3,000 more Covid-19 cases on Friday

An additional 2,983 more Covid-19 infections were confirmed in Vietnam on Friday, raising the country's total tally to over 11 million, according to the Ministry of Health. On August 19, an additional 6,975 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to over 10.05 million. On Friday evening, no deaths from Covid-19 were recorded, the country's total fatalities stayed at 43,103, accounting for 0.4 per cent of total infections. Vietnam’s COVID-19 daily count hits 3-month high

Vietnam recorded nearly 3,300 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, the highest daily count in more than three months, with the Ministry of Health attributing the resurgence to the new fast-spreading Omicron sub-variants. The health ministry documented 3,295 COVID-19 patients on Thursday, raising the national tally to 11,376,571, with 10,049,215 recoveries and 43,103 deaths. The country has so far detected four Omicron sub-variants including BA.4, BA.5, BA.2.12.1, and BA.2.74, which are more transmissible than the original strain, according to the General Department of Preventive Medicine under the health ministry. At Hanoi’s COVID-19 treatment hospital, the number of patients has bounced back in the past week. The facility is providing treatment for about 35-37 patients, most of whom have underlying conditions. Children’s COVID-19 vaccines with extended shelf life worry parents in Ho Chi Minh City

Worries about the side effects of COVID-19 vaccines and the quality of children’s jabs with extended expiration dates have made parents in Ho Chi Minh City hesitant to have their children vaccinated against the coronavirus, according to a recent survey. The municipal Center for Disease Control (HCDC) on Thursday announced the results of a rapid survey of 2,792 parents on vaccinations for children aged five to under 18 years old who are attending schools in 22 districts of the city. Of these parents, 76 percent have kids aged five to under 12, and the rest have children from 12 to less than 18 years old. Out of the more than 2,100 children aged five to below 12 involved in the survey, 34 percent had yet to be immunized, 33 percent had received their first vaccine shots, and the other 33 percent had gotten their third jabs. Vietnam sees rise in Covid-19 infections and deaths

Vietnam has seen a recent rise in the number of Covid-19 infections and deaths due to the appearance of new Omicron sub-variants. On Thursday, Vietnam recorded 3,295 Covid-19 cases, the highest figure for the past three months. The country also reported a total of around 15,000 Covid-19 infections over the past three days.
