Local media reported that their debut album "New Jeans" sold over 311,000 copies in just the first week after hitting the shelves on Aug. 8, setting a record for a debut album by a girl group. The record was previously held by music label mate Le Sserafim who sold 307,405 copies back in May with their album "Fearless". According to Korea JoongAng Daily , album sales in the first week are considered an important indicator of a K-pop artist or group's popularity. The lead track "Attention" has ranked first on many local online music websites like Melon, Genie, and Bugs. It also topped Spotify Korea's daily top chart for 13 consecutive days and debuted on the music streaming site's global top song chart and Billboard's Global chart, according to Korea Times . Through this, it hopes to help the government stabilise the economy and ensure social security, and protect workers from loan sharks. Workers expressed happiness on hearing about the package. On August 12, the Danang People's Committee in collaboration with State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (SCOV) held a seminar in Ho Chi Minh City to introduce Danang’s investment climate. While flooding caused by heavy rainfall in the western Chinese province of Qinghai has killed 16 people, state media reported on Thursday, with an additional 36 missing. A severe heatwave across the basin of China's longest river, the Yangtze, caused by a larger than usual Western Pacific subtropical high, has now lasted more than two months, slashing hydropower supplies and drying out large expanses of arable land. In the sprawling southwestern region of Chongqing, where most of Yangtze's Three Gorges reservoir is located, the grid is now scrambling to secure electricity from other parts of the country as supplies to industrial consumers are rationed, state media reported.
