Binh Minh Plastics Company (BMP)’s revenue reached 1.56 trillion VND (66.7 million USD) in Q2, up 7% year-on-year. The company's profit after tax was 3.5 times higher than in the second quarter of 2021, mainly thanks to the significant improvement in gross profit margin from 12.9% to 25.1%. The business attributed the increase in profit to the decrease in the price of plastic raw materials and unchanged selling prices. Tien Phong Plastic JSC (NTP) also recorded positive business results in Q2. Specifically, revenue increased 38% to 1.72 trillion VND (73.6 million USD). Gross profit doubled to 504 billion VND. Progress in research, clinical trials of domestic COVID-19 vaccines updated
There are five vaccines being in the research and clinical trial process, namely Nanocovax, COVIVAC, ARCT-154, COVID-19 HIPRA and S-268019, the ministry said, adding the research is being conducted on schedule and in line with contents of the research plans approved by the ministry. The work is expected to complete in December next year. As of August 11, Vietnam received 253,071,094 doses of COVID-19 vaccine, including 234,636,494 for the people aged 12 and above, and 18,434,600 for children aged between 5-11. So far, as many as 249,778,892 doses have been administered to people nationwide, with 100% of people aged over 18 years old; and from 12 to under 18 getting the first and second injections. The vaccination rate of 3rd and 4th shots in the over-18-year-old group reached 73.9% and 57.4%, respectively. US allows Delta to temporarily cut some New York, Washington flights
The FAA said as a condition of approval Delta "should offer customers a refund or rebook them on Delta or another carrier as needed for canceled flights at the three airports." Delta did not immediately comment. Delta had asked the FAA to waive minimum slot requirements at the congested airports because of a issues including New York airport construction, crew sick time, severe weather and air traffic control issues. The FAA said the approval "will support Delta’s steps to make schedule adjustments and staff assignments to increase the reliability of its operations and minimize disruptions to travelers." The relief covers flights June 1 through Sept. 5. Airlines can lose their slots at some congested airports if they do not use them at least 80% of the time.
