The Ministry of Health have announced its nine most outstanding events for the year on December 26. A lung transplant at Vietnam-Germany Hospital 1. The Institute of Vaccine and Medical Biologicals and the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) successfully tested and are ready to produce two influenza vaccines which are set to be licensed by 2019. There is an inactivated trivalent seasonal influenza vaccine that targets A/H1N1, A/H3N2 and B and an inactivated pre-pandemic influenza vaccine that targets A/H5N1. The vaccines met the World Health Organisation's GMP standards and given JICA President Award 2018. Vietnam, Japan sign cooperation deal on orderly training
At the signing ceremony (Photo: VNA) Tokyo (VNA) – Vietnamese orderly apprentices will receive free Japanese language and professional training courses before working in Japan as stipulated under a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) signed between the two countries on August 3. The MoU was inked between the Department of Overseas Labour under the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA), and the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s Social Welfare and War Victims’ Relief Bureau on the occasion of Deputy Minister Doan Mau Diep’s visit to the East Asian country. Under the deal, the Japanese side has to ensure that Vietnamese orderly apprentices will pass the exam after their first training year. At a press conference on July 24 to introduce the 18th Vietnam International Hospital, Medical and Pharmaceutical Exhibition in HCMC (Vietnam Medi-Pharm Expo 2018), Doan noted that the country had spent more than US$1.1 billion on medical equipment imports last year, well above the US$950 million spent in 2016. Japanese-funded projects improves health care services to elderly
Illustrative image (Source: laodong.vn) Hanoi (VNA) – The General Office for Population and Family Planning under the Ministry of Health on April 12 launched a Japanese-funded project to provide preventive health care services to the elderly to cope with population aging in Vietnam. The project, which has been carrying out from July 2017 to March 2020, is funded with 91,750 USD from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and over 1.4 billion VND from the Vietnamese Government. It aims to build a standard model on caring the health of the elderly in the community before multiplying it across the country, contributing to meeting the demand of long-term care for the elderly.
