Glass noodles is a specialty of Cao Bằng. VNA/VNS Photo Chu Hiệu Phia Đén Hamlet in Thành Công Commune in the northern province of Cao Bằng is home to green fields of canna, whose roots are the main ingredient of glass noodles. Raw glass noodles are dried under the sun. VNA/VNS Photo Chu Hiệu Canna is grown in Phia Đén Mountain, lying 1,000m above sea level, from January to February in the lunar calendar and harvested in October and November. Finished glass noodles are tied and packed for consumption.VNA/VNS Photo Chu Hiệu Phia Đén glass noodles are renowned nationwide thanks to their delicious taste and smooth texture, which are created using traditional methods and favourable weather conditions. VinFast announces opening of pre-orders for electric vehicles in Việt Nam, US

HÀ NỘI — Automaker VinFast on January 4 announced it will receive pre-orders for its electric SUV models VF e35 and VF e36 in Việt Nam and the US during the VinFast Global EV Day within the framework of the technology exhibition CES 2022 in Las Vegas, the US. Accordingly, pre-orders for the vehicles will open at 5pm on January 5 (Las Vegas time), or 8am of January 6 (Hanoi time). Special offers from VinFirst programme will be given to those who book the two models within the first three months. In Việt Nam, customers who will have to pay VNĐ15 million (US$659) in advance for VF e35 and VNĐ20 million for VF e36 will receive gift vouchers worth VNĐ150 million and VNĐ250 million,  respectively. Meanwhile, customers in the US who pay $200 in advance will get an e-voucher worth $3,000 for VF e35 and $5,000 for VF e36. In both markets, the pre-orders are refundable. Cargill extends access to education for ~400 children in rural Vietnam

The 105 th Cargill Cares school is located in the province’s remote mountainous Muong Lat District which has an underprivileged and largely ethnic minority population, where the pre-existing school had been requiring urgent repair and expansion. No access to electricity, heating or cooling in an area prone to sub-zero winters, and absence of administrative support like clean washrooms, insufficient infrastructure, and poor accessibility, often made just getting to school a daily challenge for students and faculty alike. Quang Chieu No. 1 Elementary School Muong Lat is known to be among the poorest areas in one of Vietnam’s poorest provinces, with the disaster prone region seeing a poverty rate over 17 times higher than the provincial average.
