(Photo amro-asia.org) Hanoi (VNS/VNA) – Vietnam is expected to come out second only to the Philippines in terms of projected GDP for 2022 and on top for 2023, according to a recent Quarterly Update of the ASEAN + 3 Regional Economic Outlook. Specifically, the country was projected to achieve a growth rate of 6.3% this year and 6.5% next year, well above the region-wide figures which were estimated at 4.3% and 4.9% respectively. Compared to the previous update, Vietnamese growth rates were revised downwards to reflect the lower growth forecasts for China and the US, its major trade partners. Workers’ average monthly income grows 5.3 percent in H1

N.A. Standing Committee agrees to reduce environmental protection tax for fuel
Accordingly, the N.A. Standing Committee adjusted the environmental protection tax rate from 2,000 VND (0.086 USD) to 1,000 VND per liter for petrol (except ethanol), from 1,000 VND to 500 VND per liter for diesel, from 1,000 VND to 300 VND per liter for mazut and lubricant and 300 VND per kg for grease. Construction sector should enhance consulting quality: President
He made the suggestion at a meeting with the association’s representatives on July 5 on the occasion of its 40th founding anniversary. Highlighting the importance of the construction sector to the national economy, the President required the VFCEA to advise the Party and the State on issues relating to development strategies such as housing, urban areas, industrial parks, socio-economic infrastructure, architectural planning, including related institutions and legal documents. This year, PV Power 's profit plan has been adjusted down from its previously announced level. Therefore, its first-half post-tax profit , despite representing an annual decrease of 19%, still exceeded the yearly goal. Also in the period, its electricity output reached 7.1 billion kWh, reducing by 25% year-on-year. Nguyen Dinh Thi, head of PV Power's economic planning department, said that with such output decrease, the company’s revenue amounted to 14.865 trillion VND, equaling 61.3% of the yearly plan but down 5% compared to the same previous last year.
