Resumption of international flights depends on vaccine coverage The proposal, signed by MoT Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan, clarified that since late March 2020, due to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, all international flights have only been allowed to carry passengers and cargo to other countries but only goods to Vietnam. The transportation of passengers to Vietnam will only be conducted with permission of authorised agencies. From November 28, Vietnam Airlines regularly operates two flights per week between Ho Chi Minh City and San Francisco. The airline plans to increase the number to seven flights per week after the COVID-19 pandemic is controlled and the Vietnamese Government allows the reopening of regular international routes. Vietnam Airlines also considers opening more routes between Los Angeles of the U.S. and Hanoi or HCM City. All flights between Vietnam and the U.S. will use the most modern wide-body aircraft, such as Boeing 787 and Airbus A350. According to Vietnam Airlines General Director Le Hong Ha, more than a year ago, Vietnam Airlines became the first Vietnamese airline flying directly to the U.S. to bring home Vietnamese citizens. On a Saturday afternoon in November My Hanh of Thu Duc City and Hong Tham of District 5 met at a bicycle club in District 1. For two weeks the 23-year-old women had not been able to get bikes due to the huge demand, but they were third time lucky. It was the first time ever they had handled sports bikes and had to be shown the ropes by a club member. Unlike Hanh and Tham, Lan Anh and her two friends in District 1 have been hiring sports bikes for weeks. The three localities with the highest number of new cases were Ho Chi Minh City with 1,554 cases, Can Tho with 913 cases, and Binh Duong with 719 cases. Of the day's tally, 7,601 cases were detected in the community. Health authorities also confirmed 16,088 recoveries on Monday, bringing the total tally of recovered cases so far to 974,724.
