Addressing the UN Security Council’s open debate on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue, Quý called on Israel to put an end to violence against civilians, and conduct objective, quick investigations into all attacks on Palestinians. Photo courtesy of the ministry HÀ NỘI — To help farmers manage climate-related risks such as flooding, drought and saline intrusion, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development launched the Climate-Smart Maps and Adaption Plans (CS-MAP) on Tuesday. CS-MAP integrates local knowledge and science-based research to provide location-specific risk maps and adaptation plans for rice production. The project currently covers five ecological regions of Việt Nam and was developed by the Ministry’s Crops Production Department and CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security in Southeast Asia (CCAFS SEA). Total investment capital for railway development until 2030 is estimated at VND230 trillion (US$10.5 billion). Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are projected to be the main transit hubs in Vietnam’s railway planning for the 2021-2030 period, which targets to build nine new railway routes with a total length of 2,362 kilometers. The country would have a network of 25 railway routes with a length of 6,354 kilometers by 2050. The ticking time bomb of Evergrande has been making headlines for many days. The world's most indebted real estate group is saddled with more than $305 billion in debt and has issued repeated warnings that it could default. Currently, Evergrande's stock and bond prices are falling sharply, declining 90 per cent from their peak in 2020. Shareholders and 70,000 investors stand to lose almost everything as the Chinese government signalled intention to let Evergrande handle matters on its own under market mechanisms.
