They are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, among them are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness,” and the spirit of which had been echoed in Vietnam’s Declaration of Independence penned by the late President Ho Chi Minh. The Vietnamese founding father since the very beginning of the modern Vietnam had expressed the desire to set up equal, comprehensive relations with the US in his letter sent to US President Harry Truman in 1946. The Vietnam-US relations have gone through so many vicissitudes and breakthroughs to achieve so much since the two nations officially normalized their ties in 1995. Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh focused on Vietnam’s economic development policy based on independence, self-reliance, and international integration in his speech at Harvard Kennedy School in the U.S. on Saturday. PM Chinh visited the school and attended a policy powwow as part of his trip to the U.S. and participation in the U.S. - ASEAN Special Summit from May 11 to 17, at the invitation of U.S. President Joe Biden. In his remarks, the Vietnamese government chief emphasized the building of an independent, self-reliant but deeply integrated economy in Vietnam. (Photo: VNA) Massachusetts (VNA) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended a policy dialogue on development orientations of Vietnam in the 21st century with professors of the Harvard Kennedy School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on May 14 (US time) as part of his working trip to the US. Speaking at the dialogue, Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said in 2019, he led a delegation of researchers to the Harvard School to listen to experts’ opinions about the development strategy for the country. Vietnamese students finish third at US science contest

Two Vietnamese students have won third prize at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2022, the largest international pre-college science competition recently held in the United States. Tran Phong and Tran My Chi, who won third prize at ISEF 2022, pose for a photo with their teacher. Tran Phong and Tran My Chi, both of whom are currently studying at Lao Cai High School for Gifted Students, were awarded US$2,000 after impressing judges with their entry of a mobile blood bank. Their project helps to create a strong connection between hospitals and blood donors in order to allow them to promptly provide drops of blood, a move which could contribute to saving the lives of critically-ill patients.
