Increases in covid 19 are unrelated to levels of vaccination
According to the Ministry of Health, Vietnam could record more Covid-19 outbreaks, especially in current weather conditions, which are favorable for the spread of the virus. In the fourth Covid-19 wave, which started in late April 2021, Vietnam has recorded 1,152,926 cases, including 1,150,625 locally-transmitted cases (99.8%). As many as 934,444 patients have recovered from the disease (81%), and 24,083 people died of the virus in 45 out of 63 provinces and cities in the country. According to the Ministry of Health, in the past seven days, some provinces reported an increase in the number of locally transmitted infections compared to the previous seven days, with an increase of 1,193 cases in Ho Chi Minh City and 1,096 cases in Ba Ria - Vung Tau. Two students, with one in Hanoi capital and the other in Bac Giang province, have died after they were given their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19. The new infections, including 21 imported ones, raised the total number in the country since the start of the pandemic to 1,266,288. Ho Chi Minh City topped the list with 1,738, followed by Can Tho (985), Tay Ninh (768), Soc Trang (747), Ba Ria-Vung Tau (637), Dong Thap (606), Binh Thuan (502), Ca Mau (496), Bac Lieu (492), Dong Nai (475) and Binh Phuoc (472). The capital Hanoi registered a further 499 transmissions, marking a record total for the city for the second consecutive day.
