Hanoi (VNA) – Nine imported cases of COVID-19 were detected in the past 12 hours to 6pm April 10, raising the national count to 2,692, according to the Health Ministry.

All of the patients are Vietnamese citizens who were put under quarantine right after their arrival through Ha Tin international border gate in Kien Giang province. They are now being treatment at the medical centre in Ha Tien city, Kien Giang province.

As many as 37,938 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or arrived from pandemic areas are under medical monitoring nationwide, with 523 in hospitals, 21,705 in designated facilities and 15,710 at their accommodations.

The ministry said 2,429 COVID-19 patients in the country have been given the all-clear so far, while the death toll remains at 35.

Among patients still under treatment, 22 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, 11 twice and 17 thrice.

To live safely with the pandemic, the Ministry of Health advised people to remain proactive in pandemic prevention and control by continuing to wear face masks when going out, disinfecting frequently, maintaining a safe distance, refraining from mass gatherings, and making medical declaration s./.

COVID-19: Another imported case detected in Kien Giang

The patient, a 27-year-old man of Hai Phong port city, crossed the Ha Tien International Bordergate into Kien Giang province and was immediately quarantined upon his arrival.

He tested positive for the virus on April 10 and was transferred to Ha Tien City Polyclinic for medical observation and treatment.

Earlier on April 10, the MoH announced nine cases returning from abroad through the Ha Tien International Bordergate.

The new case has raised the total number of coronavirus infections to 2,693 since the first case was recorded in January 2020.

Of the total, 2,429 patients have been discharged from hospital after making a full recovery from the disease.

Among the active cases given treatment in health facilities across the country, 81 have tested negative at least once.

The number of deaths caused by COVID-19 and related illnesses remains at 35.

HCMC – The Ministry of Health has reported one new imported Covid-19 case in Ha Tien City, Kien Giang Province, sending the country’s Covid-19 tally to 2,693 as of this evening, April 11.

The patient is a 27-year-old man residing in Duong Kinh District, Haiphong City. He entered the country through the Ha Tien International Border Gate and was immediately put under quarantine on April 8. He is being treated at the Ha Tien City Medical Center.

The country has reported 910 locally transmitted Covid-19 cases in 13 cities and provinces in the latest outbreak since January 27. Most of these localities have reported no new domestic infections for over two months.

As many as 2,429 Covid-19 patients in the country have made a full recovery. Among the active cases, 17 patients have tested negative for Covid-19 three times and 11 others have tested negative twice.

Nearly 38,000 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned to Vietnam from Covid-19-hit countries are being quarantined.

Up to now, 58,248 people in 19 cities and provinces nationwide have been injected with the Covid-19 vaccine, including 211 people in HCMC, Haiphong and Bac Ninh today.

Among the latest cases, two were found in Hanoi and the remainder in the northern province of Thai Nguyen. They all returned from Japan and were put into isolation immediately upon arrival. The three new patients are now receiving treatment at local hospitals after they were confirmed to carry the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

So far the country recorded a total of 1,603 local infections and 1,093 imported ones.

2,429  out of the total positive cases have been declared to be clear of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and the COVID-19 related death toll stays unchanged at 35.

Among those still under treatment, a total of 50 have tested negative for anti-COVID- groups at least once.

As many as 37,938 people are being quarantined throughout the country for medical observation after having close contact with positive COVID-19 patients or entering Vietnam from pandemic-hit regions.

According to the National Expanded Immunization Programme, more than 58,240 frontline medical workers along with members of community-based anti-COVID- groups had been injected with the COVID-19 vaccine across 19 provinces and centrally-run cities nationwide.

Three more imported Covid-19 patients confirmed on Monday morning

Three more Vietnamese people who recently returned to Vietnam from Japan have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, raising the total number of patients in the country to 2,696, the Ministry of Health reported on Monday morning.

According to the ministry’s report, the new patients include one woman and two men aged between 23-32 who landed at Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airort from Japan on April 9. They were sent to quarantine facilities in Hanoi and Thai Nguyen Province upon arrival and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on April 11.

The patients are now being treated at local hospitals.

With these new infection cases, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 2,696, including 910 locally-transmitted cases reported since the new outbreak started in Hai Duong on January 28.


As of 6 am on April 12, a total of 2,429 Covid-19 patients had recovered and been discharged from hospital. There have been 35 deaths, most of them being the elderly with serious underlying diseases.

At present, nearly 38,000 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from virus-hit areas are being monitored at hospitals, quarantine facilities, and at home.

Three more imported COVID-19 cases confirmed on April 12 morning

All the new infections are imported cases and have been quarantined since their arrival in the country.

According to the MoH’s Medical Service Administration, 2,429 patients have successfully recovered as of April 10, while the death toll remained at 35.

Among active patients undergoing treatment at medical establishments nationwide, 22 tested negative to coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 once, 11 twice and 17 others thrice.

The ministry reported that an additional 6,005 people were given COVID-19 vaccinations from April 5-11, bringing the total number of vaccinated people to 58,418.

To live safely with the pandemic, the MoH advised people to continue preventive measures, including the “5K message” (in Vietnamese) – Khau trang (facemask) – Khu khuan (disinfection) – Khoang cach (distance) – Khong tu tap (no gathering) – Khai bao y te (health declaration).
