At the event, delegates watched videos briefing the military’s implementation of military and defense missions in the first half of this year and introducing new scientific and technological products developed by units in the whole military over the past time. Over the past years, under the direction of Military Region 3's Party Committee and Command, agencies and units under the military region have effectively carried out the CMC’s resolutions. As a result, the awareness and responsibility of Party committees and chains-of-command at all levels and troops of training mission have been heightened, and training quality have been enhanced, contributing to raising the strength and combat readiness capabilities of the military region. Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister, chaired the opening ceremony. The competition aims to evaluate capacity and professionalism of commanders and political commissars of the military commands of the centrally-run cities and provinces in performing military and defense tasks, thus improve the quality of military personnel to meet the task requirements in the following years. The competition includes two major categories: general theory and practice.
