With a total investment of VND7.5 billion, Hai Ba Trung book street displays and sells more than 10,000 book titles, of which new book titles account for 40%. Various types of old and used books in various genres are available here such as children’s books, literature, society, culture and medicine books, and books in English and French languages. Visitors will enjoy a discount of up to 30%-50% on books and documents displayed at Hai Ba Trung book street on its opening period. Hue City preserves French-built structures The Saigon Times Daily Hue Culture Museum, one of 27 French-built structures in Hue City that will be preserved - PHOTO: VNA HCMC - Authorities of the central province of Thua Thien-Hue have announced a plan to preserve 27 French-built architectural structures in Hue City. Eleven of them are under State management such as Hue University, Hue Railway Station, Hue Culture Museum and Diem Phung Thi Art Gallery while 16 others are owned by organizations and households, according to the Vietnam News Agency. The Hue Culture Museum at 25 Le Loi Street was built based on ancient French architecture. It consists of a two-storey brick-wall office building and another building of three floors sharing the same stairs. Hue Youth Culture Center, which was once L'Accueil, was built in 1939.
